Vintage Design
1920’s Original Twelve Drawer Storage Cabinet – McCalls Pattern. The McCall Pattern Company was established in 1870 by a Scottish tailor named James McCall. Patterns were unprinted until 1919, when they started printing information directly onto the pattern pieces. In the 1920s, selected patterns had full colour illustrations on their pattern envelopes so apart from the design and style of this cabinet it is easy to date it around 1920. The steel cabinet was made exclusively for retailers of McCalls patterns and was finished in a stunning faux grain wood finish to simulate real wood. In exceptional condition throughout, we have serviced the drawer runners and gently cleaned the outside of the cabinet and drawer internals to allow practical use. The cabinet retains its original brass handles and labels markers throughout. Internal drawer dimensions 45L x 29W x 18H.
