Kenzo, c.1980s, large-scale red paisley dress of wool and cotton challis fabric featuring interesting shape and design details. The loose, semi-cocoon shaped body has a three-button placket opening in front and extends to a deep, layered flounce at bottom. Solid color accents for the ruffled neck, the lower sleeves and cuffs, and around the flounce, provide punctuation points to the print; these are executed in juxtaposed wide and narrow bands of the colors in combination. A yoke across the back and shoulders anchors the gathered loose sleeves and top. Unlined, with shoulder pads.
Kenzo was known for his use of color, patterns, and cross-cultural references; he operated his own labels from c.1970 to the late 1990s.
Marked size M. In excellent condition.
