Isabelle Allard 1980s strapless dress and bolero jacket in white faille with tiny black polka dots. The shaped and fitted dress is trimmed at the bustline and faux flap pockets with heavy black lace that punctuates the design. In back, with its center zipper, there is a small slit at the hem of the tapered skirt. A simple abbreviated bolero with short sleeves serves as a coverup to the dramatic dress.
On the interior of the dress, boning shapes the curves and serves as structure for the strapless design. Foam cups have been added, but can easily be removed. The dress is lined in white taffeta, the jacket is self lined and has shoulder pads.
Isabelle Allard was the quintessential 1980s French designer of eye-catching evening wear.
