Fall 1992 Documented DOLCE & GABBANA Black Mirror & Tassel Appliqué Velvet Vest

This exquisite black pure cotton velvet waistcoat, adorned with mirrors, pom-poms, and tassels at the hem, is made in Italy and a testament to Dolce & Gabbana’s unparalleled craftsmanship.

Like several other exceptional vintage pieces that are already available in the shop, the vest comes direct from a German socialite and fashion collector so has not been on the market prior to this.

Perhaps this waistcoat is the piece with the most documentation I ever had in the shop:
1. The exact twin of it was photographed in advance of the runway show.
2. Runway legends Carla Bruni and Karen Mulder graced the catwalk wearing a jacket version and a sister vest of this captivating item.
3. Steven Meisel shot a motif for the fashion house’s Fall 1992 ad campaign with Kate Moss, Nadja Auermann, Tyra Banks, Meghan Douglas and some more 1990s super models sporting the jacket and other pieces embellished with the same mirrors. Please have a look at the reference photos.

But the allure doesn’t end there – imagine the inimitable Fran Drescher, as Fran Fine in “The Nanny,” donning the jacket version, making this vest a piece of television history. This design truly exudes luxury, creativity, and a touch of star-studded charm.

The vest features a fitted cut accentuating your silhouette and a center button closure. Lined in a black silky what appears to be rayon and labeled “DOLCE & GABBANA”. Tagged an Italian size 44 but runs smaller.

Measurements for bust and waist are taken flat across from side seam to side seam and then DOUBLED.
