We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of circa 1900-1920 Haxyes steamer deck chairs with canopy tops and retractable footrests. A truly stunning pair of original English Victorian armchairs. These came from the golden age of travel when trains, boats and all things steam powered changed the world. These would have been used on a luxury steamer, the colour blue would have been transport provider’s colour. These would have been for the VIP’s as they have canopy tops for shade and retractable footstools. Condition wise they are in amazing order for the age, the fabric is all original and beautifully aged, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished the timber from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks as you would expect. Dimensions Height:- 140cm Width:- 72cm Depth:- 153cm with footrest extended. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
