Vintage Design
Solid and veneered mahogany furniture, from the beginning of the last century, that we owe to the Art Nouveau movement.
It is composed in the center of a recessed space, including a Mirror with beveled edges, topped with a carved frieze. There are also two small shelves with moving lines and moulded borders. The sides and back are paneled with flat strips, a composition also chosen for the doors and sides of the piece of furniture.
Underneath, this cabinet opens with two drawers with large Bronze drawer handles, and two doors with lock entries of the same alloy. The interior is fitted with a 41 cm deep shelf on racks. It should be noted that this unit is a step ahead of the rest of the cabinet.
On both sides, two higher and narrower storage units contain a total of eight shelves behind their doors, some of which are height-adjustable and interchangeable.
The fronts of the four doors of this cabinet have a similar composition, i.e. symmetrically designed mahogany burl veneer on solid mahogany. It is this judicious combination that allows, on the lower doors, the Sculpture of Vine Decorations in the thickness of the wood. On the side doors, in the upper parts, we also find projecting Pampres on the side doors.
It should be noted that the doors lock and that the cabinet is supplied with its three current keys.
The unit rests on twelve legs, some of which are connected in pairs.
The inside of the drawers as well as the back of the cabinet are in Oak.
This cabinet can be dismantled into four parts.
It has been manufactured to a high standard, thanks to “Au Comfortable”, a Parisian company that has stamped one of the drawers with its stamp.
One will appreciate the beautiful mahogany veining of this Modern style furniture, which also offers a plurality of interesting spaces.
