Vintage Design
This is a beautiful card table from the early 19th century with Dutch marquetry on mahogany and a folding triangular design. The table has square tapering legs and can be folded flat with gated legs at the front and back. The top is exquisitely inlaid with a central vase, trailing flowers, a bird, and a scrolling border. The table is also inlaid on the frieze and down the legs, making it a stunning piece of furniture.
Early 19C Mahogany Marquetry Inlaid Triangular Card Table. The top is profusely inlaid with floral marquetry having a central urn with an exotic bird sitting atop with leaf scrolls below, all framed in boxwood line inlay. The outer edge has a band of interlinked foliate inlays flanked by stringing. Half-round mouldings to edges. The interior has a base inset with outline stringing. Shaped floral inlaid frieze to the back and front. Middle back leg pulls out to support foldover top. All on floral marquetry inlaid cylindrical turned legs with club feet.
Antique condition with few marks and lighting to the table top, slight warp on the top once folded out, and antique frass marks on one side.
