19th Century Head of a Spanish Santos of Judas Iscariat

This wood, gesso and paint head of a santos of Judas Iscariot would have topped a procession figure that most likely was paraded through the streets of a town in Spain. As would be expected, paint has chipped off over the years and there are losses to the gesso.

This wood head is in fair original condition with losses to both paint and gesso consistent with wear from age and use.
