This is a stunning pair of 14k Etruscan Revival drop earrings featuring intricate gold detailing and a delicate Mississippi river pearl dangling element. The shape of the earrings resembles an elongated urn hanging from an Etruscan Revival ball.

Both ball and urn have delicate wirework and granulation indicative of Etruscan Revival jewellery. They weigh 4.8 grammes, and measure 2” from the top of the backing to the bottom of the seed pearl, hanging beautifully when worn with nice movement and glow.

These earrings date back to the 1880’s when the trend of Etruscan Revival jewellery was popular. The revival of Etruscan jewellery started in the 1800’s when a large excavation of Etruscan tombs outside of Rome revealed breathtaking pieces of jewellery. The news of the excavation of these tombs, and the treasures contained inside them, spread throughout Europe. Etruscan Revival jewellery quickly rose to popularity.
