AKRIS was founded by Alice Kriemler-Schoch with just one sewing machine in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 1922. She started making polka-dot aprons. In 1945, her son Max followed her and built AKRIS up into a high-end fashion house known all over the world for a new kind of luxury – modern, feminine and discrete and couture-quality materials. Since the 1980s, his two sons have jointly run the company: Albert und Peter Kriemler. AKRIS has developed for dressing powerful women such as Condoleezza Rice, Diane Sawyer and Princess Charlene of Monaco.
Excellent vintage condition. Note that although the dress appears to have been worn very little, if at all, there is one pulled thread on the front of the upper layer of the skirt and few marks on the skirt’s back that may come out with additional cleaning. None that detract or mar the presentation of the dress in any way but mentioned for accuracy. Priced accordingly.
