1947 French Fashion Design by Pierre Balmain, Matted

This is a French fashion design by the iconic Pierre Balmain. It is a design print that dates to 1947. It originally appeared in a French magazine of the time. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It is signed and dated the fashion illustrator known as “D”. Balmain was a leading couture designer of the mid-century year often commissioned to illustrate designs for the leading haute couture magazines. This image features an elegant woman in an elegant long evening dress. Pierre Balmain was inspired by the silhouette, grace, beauty, and sophistication of the early 20th century fashion designers.
